Do You Want to Grow Our Renewable Energy Portfolio in Southern Europe?
We are looking to expand our Renewable Energy team in Spain with an Underwriter who is interested in growing our portfolio in Southern Europe, focusing on the construction and operation of projects in the wind and solar industry segments.

You will become part of our growing team in Spain, working with other underwriters in our Renewable Energy department. The Renewable Energy department in Spain is part of our wider Renewable Energy department that is comprised of 30 experts, spread across seven countries.
We operate as an agile company with close cross-border co-operation. We are organized as a matrix and have regular online meetings, in-person trainings, and seminars to transfer knowledge, update, and continue strengthening the team.

The position
As our new Underwriter, you will help manage and grow the our Renewable Energy portfolio in the Southern Europe region.
The position involves daily contact with insurance brokers and end customers. Therefore, you must be service-minded, enjoy building relationships, and thrive in communicating over the phone and in person with many different people.
Not only will you have extensive contact with external partners, but you will also cooperate closely with other members of the Renewable Energy department as well as our Distribution team and Claims department.
Examples of responsibilities include:
- Quoting, negotiating, and closing suitable business deals
- Underwriting domestic and international accounts in the country / region
- Sparring with local partners and referral points for risks
- Targeting key accounts and brokers
- Fostering strong local relationships with key specialist brokers
- Helping with the localization and translation of our global Renewable Energy wording to serve the Southern Europe market requirements

A great match for us
Ideally you have 2+ years of insurance industry experience within the renewable energy market. Experience from property insurance lines is considered a plus.
The right person for this position is a strong team player, who at the same time can work independently and possesses a self-starter attitude.
The candidate, we are looking for, preferably has experience or obtained papers in the following fields:
- A university degree preferably within the fields of engineering, business administration, finance, or an insurance industry education
- Negotiating business deals with insurance brokers or other parties
We imagine you have a pro-active attitude towards handling complex tasks, and that you possess strong interpersonal, administrative, and analytical skills.
As we are an international company, it is essential that you possess a high proficiency in both written and spoken Spanish, alongside a professional level of English in both written and spoken forms. In addition, Portuguese language skills will be considered an advantage.
