We are looking to expand our underwriting team in Finland with a new team member, who will be responsible for growing our Liability insurance portfolio, especially focusing on our Financial Lines and Cyber insurance service offerings. The position is a full-time permanent role based in our Helsinki office.

About the team

Our Finnish office, located in Helsinki, is home to a small but energetic and driven team of underwriters dedicated solely to our liability insurance products.

In total, our company’s Liabilities department comprises 59 experts from six countries, specializing in various fields of liability insurance. The department is organized by product specialties and we regularly hold seminars to share updates, transfer knowledge, and strengthen ourselves as a global team.

You will become part of our growing Financial Lines team, currently consisting of 29 highly skilled and multinational underwriters located in the Nordics and across Europe. You will engage daily with colleagues, insurance brokers, insured clients, and alternative distribution channels.

About the position

As our new Liability Underwriter, your role will primarily be to manage our existing Financial Institutions portfolio, with a broader focus on underwriting and business development for our Financial Lines portfolios in Finland. In addition, you will be supporting our Cyber insurance offering.

In our small office operations, roles are often interchangeable, allowing you to work across multiple product lines. The flexibility means that depending on your skills, capabilities, and interests, there is potential for the role to adapt and expand in the future.

You will collaborate closely with our Finnish Liabilities Underwriting team with the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and fast growing business environment and insurance marketplace.

Examples of responsibilities include:

• Interacting with brokers and carriers and negotiating first-class business deals
• Conducting legal, technical, and financial risk analysis to provide necessary risk reviews and sophisticated, informed underwriting decisions
• Nurturing and maintaining the existing product portfolios
• Independently representing our Financial Lines insurance services in the local market
• Developing new business of Financial Lines and Cyber products in Finland
• Obtaining insights into financial lines and cyber risks in different sized Finnish enterprises, both in Finland and globally

We hope you have:

• Suitable educational background ideally, but not restricted to, economics, business administration, or law
• Experience with financial analysis, risk assessment, and/or contractual terms
• Understanding of marketing, sales-oriented working methods, and business administration is preferred but not required
• Capability to work independently with a proactive attitude
• Ability to manage complex tasks
• Good negotiation skills
• Flexible attitude and ability to self-manage
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

It is important that you are fluent in Finnish and English. Swedish skills are considered an advantage.
