Senior Underwriter, Accident & Health

We are expanding our product portfolio to include life insurance (group life, expat life, and travel life) as well as health insurance, and we are therefore seeking a new employee for our Accident & Health (A&H) department. The position is a full-time permanent role, based at our office in Copenhagen.

Who are we?

The RiskPoint Group is a global Managing General Underwriter (MGU) providing best-in-class insurance solutions backed by the insurance companies we act on behalf of.

We operate in an agile organization with close cross-border cooperation across all business lines.

Our organizational structure is flat, leaving many opportunities for all employees to make a difference, take responsibility, excel, and grow.

About the team

You will become part of our growing A&H department, comprising five experts within their respective fields of accident and health insurance. Our A&H department is present in Copenhagen and Stockholm.

We operate as an agile organization with close co-operation, helping each other by sharing the latest market updates and transferring knowledge.

We believe that transparent and precise terms and conditions are vital in a sensitive area such as A&H. Thus, we operate with a centralized approach to underwriting, promoting maximum cooperation and efficiency in decision-making.

About the position

We are expanding our service portfolio to meet the growing demand for life and health insurance products from our clients and partners. As our new A&H Senior Underwriter you will be at the forefront of building our new business area from the ground up.

The ideal candidate for this position has a strong background in life insurance, with relevant education and several years of experience at a life insurance company, pension provider, or as a pension broker. This opportunity requires you to take full ownership of a new product area, where you will manage everything from product development and portfolio management, to distribution strategies and policy terms. As the role involves daily interaction with insurance brokers, clients, and insured parties, you must be adept at building and maintaining relationships, negotiating terms, and explaining complex insurance products to both internal and external stakeholders.

Examples of responsibilities include:

  • Building the product portfolio, including product descriptions, terms, processes, budgeting etc.
  • Underwriting and analyzing life and health products
  • Servicing clients and partners
  • Having close communication with our international partners
  • Engaging in cross-disciplinary collaboration within the organization
  • Taking part in product development both internally and externally with partners

A great match for us

To be successful in this role, it is crucial that you are both a collaborative team player and an independent, proactive self-starter.

Moreover, you are energetic, ambitious, and have an entrepreneurial spirit that will contribute to the continued growth and success of our company. You will need the ability to manage complex tasks, navigate sales-oriented environments, and demonstrate excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Experience with business analysis, risk assessment, contractual terms, marketing, sales, and business administration are preferred, but not required. Previous experience in project leadership is a plus.

Prior insurance knowledge and experience is a requirement for this position, and candidates with specific background in life insurance products will be given priority.

We are looking for an outgoing person, who knows the market. Familiarity with insurance brokers, our primary distribution channel, is key.

We hope you have:

  • Education or training in pension or life insurance (required)
  • Relevant professional experience
  • In-depth market knowledge
  • Fluency in Danish and English
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • A team-oriented approach whilst able to work autonomously
  • A flexible, adaptable, and positive outlook
  • Responsible attitude and ability to self-manage
