Who Are We?

As this position is based in New York, you will become part of RP Underwriting which is our North American affiliate that was launched in 2021.

About the Position

As our new IT Support Specialist in North America, you will be providing day-to-day operational IT support to the RP Underwriting team in the US and Canada, and performing a wide range of business-related IT functions in coordination with the global IT team.

You will oversee the North American IT systems, assist with upgrades and maintenance, and provide training and support as needed, whilst managing the helpdesk function, ensuring timely and effective resolution of user issues. You will have the opportunity to work with and coordinate amongst various stakeholders, as well as the opportunity to have an immediate impact on the efficiency of our operations and overall growth.

This role is based in New York with a hybrid office option as approved by your manager. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

You will report to our CTO, who is located in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Your primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Providing competent IT support and service to the company in the daily challenges from an IT perspective.
  • Escalation to operating supplier or internal IT development team when necessary.
  • Ensuring that security baselines are met on computers and servers both locally and in the hosted environment.
  • Participating in operational and status meetings.
  • Following the written instructions and work descriptions for IT tasks.
  • Participating in testing and preparation of user manuals and documentation.
  • Contributing to the testing of contingency plans for IT security and cyber incidents.
  • Preparing various reporting and participating in other administrative ad-hoc tasks in consultation with management.

  • Up to 2 years of experience as an IT Support Specialist at an insurance or financial services company
  • Experience in Windows systems support
  • Knowledge of Windows server technology and networking
  • Ability to troubleshoot in a multi-user high availability environment
  • Proficiency in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation
  • Experience with setting up and monitoring IT client, server, and network service delivery
  • Proven ability to support and maintain a corporate network environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central, Office365, Intune, and Azure
  • A college degree or equivalent education in a relevant field is preferred
  • Professional certification is a plus
  • International cross-collaboration as part of a global IT department is a plus
