RiskPoint Strengthens Renewable Energy Value Proposition
With more than 13 years in operation within the Renewable Energy arena, RiskPoint is proud to announce the expansion of our Renewable Energy offering with a team of market leading offshore wind specialists. This move will strengthen our territorial reach and underwriting capabilities in our ambition to become a true global provider of Renewable Energy insurance solutions both offshore and onshore.
This strategic initiative in offshore wind is seen as an important step in completing our Renewable Energy offering which will complement our expanding onshore Renewable Energy product suite within wind and solar and offer synergies in the Group with our existing offshore energy business operating from Norway.
Spearheading this new focus on offshore is the addition of one of the best underwriting and risk management teams within offshore wind in the world.
Upon his release from contractual obligations with his previous employer, Brendan Reed will be appointed Head of Global Renewable Energy for RiskPoint Group and become part of the Group’s Management Team. Brendan comes with over 30 years of experience most recently in a similar role with a recognized lead market in Renewable Energy.
Sam Millard will assume responsibility as Chief Underwriting Officer for RiskPoint’s Renewable Energy activities. Sam has worked in Renewable Energy for over 13 years and likewise comes from a similar role in the Renewable Energy market. Both Brendan and Sam will be based out of RiskPoint’s office in Denmark.
Igor Silence, a 19 year veteran within construction risks and offshore Renewable Energy, will assume the role of Head of Offshore Renewable Energy within RiskPoint. Igor will be based in Belgium.
Lutz Weidtke will assume the role of Lead Underwriter within offshore. Lutz has been in the Renewable Energy market for 14 years both as a broker and underwriter and will based in Germany.
Finally, Tom Kristiansen will join RiskPoint as Head of Risk Management and Loss Prevention within Renewable Energy, supporting both our offshore and onshore activities. Tom has worked with Renewable Energy for the past 18 years. Tom will be based in RiskPoint’s Danish office.
Peder Ledgaard, Group Management member and one of the founding partners of RiskPoint, will continue to head up our Renewable Energy onshore activities in addition to his role as Global Manager for First Party business for the Group.
The team members will be joining RiskPoint as soon as possible with staggered start dates in consideration to their previous employment agreements. When the team is in place, this will allow us to build capacity and a strong value proposition to the market and establish a meaningful and sustainable presence in the global offshore space, utilizing RiskPoint’s strong brand, geographic spread and excellent service model.
Under the leadership of Peder Ledgaard, we have built a fantastic team and a strong Renewable Energy offering to the market primarily in the onshore sector. The ability for RiskPoint to attract an offshore team of this caliber, experience and market reputation is a true testament to the global strength of the RiskPoint brand. With the addition of the new team members and all the years of experience and reputation they bring we have created one of the strongest teams within the industry – which I am really proud of.
