RiskPoint Norway Welcomes Head of Energy
We are delighted to announce the further expansion of our Renewable Energy offering, with the arrival of Svein Bergstad as Head of Energy Norway and Global Head of Carbon Capture & Storage per October 1st, 2024.
Svein brings more than 25 years of experience in senior positions in the offshore insurance sector for Seadrill in Oslo and London and started his insurance career as a broker. For the last 4 years he has been an Insurance Director, overseeing all insurable risks connected to FPSOs, FSOs and Shuttle Tankers. He has a background from the Navy as an executive commander and has studied Economics and Maritime law.
The Renewable Energy and Offshore Upstream Team consists of 40 underwriters, risk engineers and claims specialists in eight countries, having written Renewable Energy policies since 2008. Since 2015 we have offered highly specialized Offshore Upstream products out of Norway. With teams in many countries, we have an ambition to grow further and enable a local perspective in an international environment. With our in-depth knowledge and experience, we strive to help our clients with risk management, risk transfer, as well as efficient and professional claims handling.
The hire of Svein demonstrates our commitment to the Norwegian energy sector and our continued support the green transition within the sector. With Svein’s experience and extensive international network in the broader energy sector, we are convinced that he will contribute to the further success of the team and service the needs of our clients.
