We are looking for a passionate and experienced Lead Construction Underwriter to join our expanding Nordic Construction team. You are the person we are looking for if you have experience with construction and erection insurance solutions across the Nordic region.

Our Construction team is part of our Property & Construction department, which comprises experts from the Nordic countries and Benelux. The team is enthusiastic and ambitious, working together to deliver superior expertise and tailored solutions.
Our headquarters in Copenhagen serves as the hub of our Nordic operations, supported by dedicated teams in Norway and Sweden who provide local insights and services, enabling us to meet the particular demands of clients throughout the region.

About the position
As our Lead Construction Underwriter, you will be a vital member of our Nordic Construction team, working closely with colleagues from the Property & Construction department to deliver tailored insurance solutions for small and medium-sized projects.
To provide exceptional service, you will interact with internal stakeholders, brokers, clients, and distribution partners on a frequent basis, both over the phone and in-person.
In this position, your technical and analytical abilities will be crucial in assessing individual cases while managing the overall portfolio. Most significantly, you will have the unique chance to contribute to drive change inside a rapidly expanding department.
Examples of responsibilities include:
- Define and develop our underwriting standards and tools
- Lead the team’s underwriting process and support the underwriters in their daily tasks
- Perform complex underwriting tasks in compliance with technical, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Negotiate premiums and terms for new and existing business
- Assess market conditions and demands
- Establish and manage relationships with brokers, other distribution partners, and carriers

As a lead position, you must be proactive, enterprising, and capable of independently managing complex underwriting tasks across multiple countries.
To effectively manage and grow commercial partnerships, you must have good communication skills, the ability to build relationships locally and internationally, as well as a sales-oriented mindset and strong negotiation skills.
To be successful in this position, you must be ambitious and possess strong decision-making abilities, since you will contribute to the expansion of our construction portfolio. Most significantly, we value trustworthiness, with a desire to drive the business forward independently and together with your team.
We hope you have:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, construction, building, or economics / finance administration
- Domicile in Copenhagen, Oslo, or Stockholm with the ability and willingness to travel between our offices
- At least 4 years of experience in insurance
- Technical expertise in building methods and general construction
- Experience in risk profiling and pricing
- The ability to negotiate and positively influence brokers and partners
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Spoken and written fluency in one of the Nordic languages and English
