Lead Actuarial Role Within Fast-Growing Global MGU

We are looking for a qualified Head of Actuarial with experience in the international or London insurance market. This is a senior leadership position requiring a strong background in quantitative risk, proven team management experience, and a curious, commercially minded approach, with the ability to take a holistic view of the business.

About Your Team

You will join the group-wide Chief Underwriting Office function to support our rapidly expanding global business.

We serve customers across multiple regions and provide both single-line and multi-line insurance solutions, tailored to local market needs across niche areas including Transactional Risk, Financial Lines, Renewable Energy, Property, Casualty, Cyber, and Accident & Health.

You will collaborate with a highly talented, multinational team spanning 16 countries, working together to support the continued growth and success of the business.

 

What Will You Do?

As Head of Actuarial, you will play a key role across the RiskPoint Group, overseeing and challenging underwriting, pricing, reserving, and risk appetite frameworks, whilst helping drive strategic initiatives and innovation. This is a highly collaborative senior role, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across the business.

This position is a new group function. Historically, pricing has been managed within individual lines of business, however, as the company continues to grow, we would like to establish an Actuarial department to support and challenge the business.

The key objective of this role will be to lead this function independently for some time, with the hope to build and develop a group-wide function in the future.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead pricing strategy and oversight across multiple insurance portfolios and territories
  • Design, review, and enhance pricing models, methodologies, and governance
  • Handle valuation and modeling of profit commission
  • Act as a trusted advisor to underwriters and senior stakeholders across the Group
  • Support business growth through informed leadership and proposals
  • Create and lead an actuarial team within the company

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Over seven years of property and casualty actuarial experience, preferably in commercial and/or niche product line pricing
  • Exposure to a wide variety of P&C, or specialty commercial insurance products
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills, with proficiency in industry-standard software, e.g., Python, R, Excel
  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit and dedicated attitude
  • Strong cross-border communication skills
  • Experience in London, or any other European country where RiskPoint has an entity

You must have the necessary work and residency permits in place for the country you reside before applying.

Spoken and written fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in local language being a plus.
