RiskPoint Expands Renewable Energy Offering with New APAC & MENA Leadership Appointment
We are delighted to announce the further expansion of our Renewable Energy offering, with the arrival of Tom Baker as Head of Energy, APAC & MENA per March 10th, 2026.
Tom brings 20 years experience in energy insurance to RiskPoint. Prior to joining, he led the global renewable energy and power practice at Markel in Singapore. Previous to Markel, Tom was Director for Construction, Power and Infrastructure at Aon and spent seven years at one of the industry’s respected names, GCube, in London.
The Renewable Energy Team consists of 45 underwriters, risk engineers and claims specialists in eight countries, having written Renewable Energy policies since 2008. With teams in many countries, we have an ambition to grow further and enable a local perspective in an international environment. With our in-depth knowledge and experience, we strive to help our clients with risk management, risk transfer, as well as efficient and professional claims handling.
The appointment of Tom underscores our strategic commitment to the renewable energy sector and our continued support to the energy transition. With Tom’s extensive experience and well-established international network in the wider global energy market, we are confident that Tom will contribute meaningfully to the team’s continued success and to meeting the needs of our clients.
